Microsoft has rolled out a new system software update for the Xbox 360 which bring the new version to 2.0.16747.0 The update added a series of backend changes but also improves the Xbox Video rental system. According to Major Nelson the update 2.0.16747.0 brings a series of backend changes for the console, so owners shouldn't get too excited about it. One of the very few major tweaks relates to the Xbox Video rental service. After you install the new firmware, you start a video rental on the Xbox 360 and continue it on another platform, like the Xbox One. No other details have been revealed by Microsoft and, considering its past strategies with Xbox 360 updates, don't expect it to share anything about the new system software anytime soon. Xbox One owners, on the other hand, can expect a suite of changes for their new console later this month. We can also confirm that this update does not affect users with modified firmware LT 3.0 , Xkey, Wassabi. You can find a full list of confirmed drives here.
