Activision has just issued a press release announcing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The new title launches November 4th and is the first Call of Duty title from Activision with a three year development cycle, and the first time Sledgehammer Games is going all in on their own.

One of highlights from the press release is that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is being developed specifically for next-gen and PC. The game is launching on Xbox 360 and PS3, but the two next-gen platforms and PC are their priorities.

    Here’s the press release:

A new game mode called Reinforce was found within the Call of Duty: Ghosts files. A reddit user, the same person who found Drop Zone before it launched, found this mode within it’s files. The mode is a hybrid between Domination and SnR.

To provide a little more context on the Gamemode, it is a hybrid of Domination and SnR

However, in order to revive teammates, you must capture Dom points rather than collecting Tags.

Your team is granted a round win once the entire enemy team has been eliminated OR when your team holds all 3 nodes.

The Paladin and Comics were two packs that were actually up for voting in May 2013 for Black Ops 2, but didn’t get selected by fans; so, Treyarch is now releasing these two for all to purchase. These items will be coming to PS3 and PC players at a later date.

There's a new installment coming to the COD series that we know as Call Of Duty 2014, and here is what we know about the game so far:

We Know that We know that Sledgehammer Games is working on this year’s game and that Call Of Duty has now moved to a 3 year development cycle, and we know that Call of Duty 2014 will be a “next-gen first” game meaning it will be coming to Xbox One and PS4 before Xbox 360 and PS3.

We also know that the graphics are looking real smooth if the latest screenshot is anything to go by. An image has been released showing a close up of a soldiers face and the detail is nothing short of amazing as you can see below:

We suspect that Sledgehammer games will remain true to form with the usual announcement method and announce the new Call Of Duty at the NBA Playoffs, so my guess is the next month we will start to see trailers for the game.

Rumor: Future Call of Dutys Will be Developed Natively for PlayStation 4

Generally speaking, multiplatform games are developed first on one platform and then ported to wherever else it is they'll end up. That's part of the reason embarrassments like Skyrim's initial PlayStation 3 release happen. For a while, entries in the Call of Duty franchise have been developed on Microsoft's Xbox 360 and then ported out to PlayStation 3 afterwards, but if what leaker and NeoGAF user Famousmortimer says is true, Activision may be swapping companies in the eighth generation.

In a NeoGAF post discussing whether the Xbox One will continue to see success like it has been, Famousmortimer writes that he "heard that activision is going to make a public announcement about COD changing to the PS4 as lead platform," meaning Call of Duty games would be developed on PlayStation 4 first and ported to Xbox One afterwards.

"I'm not ready to jump on the XB1 is doomed train yet. Titanfall, or really any game, can turn the fortunes, but as of now - yes, good start but valid concerns. The PS4 is above and beyond all projections and publishers are re-calibrating to this. I heard that activision is going to make a public announcement about COD changing to the PS4 as lead platform. I have no idea if this means DLC (I assume MS locked that down for multiple years) but COD was a XBOX 360 game that happened to be on the ps3 last gen. That will be a hugely symbolic move... and don't discount what that means to the masses." — Famousmortimer

I don't know whether this will end up meaning terribly much to the consumers or even if this will end up being true, but it would be interesting to know Activision's (hypothetical) motive here.

During its Game Developers Conference 2014 panel, Quest for Quality: Maximizing the Relationship Between Creative and Production, Sledgehammer Games revealed an image showing in-game character models for the next Call of Duty.

"Actual in-game characters," the developer claimed.

Sledgehammer's Call of Duty, which will release this fall, has been in development for nearly three years as part the new development cycle for the series.

The unannounced title will be "next-gen first," according to publisher Activision.
