Xbox One hack – Team Xecuter hints at heavyweight machines used to reverse engineer the Xbox One We talked a while ago about Team Xecuter implying they were working on some big hack for the Xbox One. Recently, the admin of the Xecuter site dropped another “hint” about the machines they are using to reverse engineer the console. All of this needs to be taken with a bucket of salt of course. That team has been promising an xbox one hack for quite some time now, but hasn’t provided any significant proof of anything. It’s not unusual for “veteran” hacking teams to claim they’ll have a new hack ready soon, when they’ve actually just started thinking about it. Some people have mentioned on this blog that it’s their only way to stay in people’s mind (well, I guess it kind of works since I’m writing about it right now). Specifically, the photos of the devices below provided by Team Xecuter are not their own, but generic pictures from other sites of the internet. But if the pictures are to be believed, Team Xecuter have access to confocal scan microscopes, probe stations, and decapsulation systems. These devices easily cost several thousands of dollars. Not to mention that decapping CPUs pretty much means ruining a bunch of XBox Ones to analyze them. Again, nothing proves Team Xecuter actually have access to this hardware, let alone that they’re using it for anything successful. Nevertheless, it’s cool to imagine what a hacking team with access to such expensive tools could do, given enough funds and time. Anything on this? I feel like we wont see a jailbreak until next gen comes out or close to the end of this gen. By that time i wont really be interested in a hacked or jailbroken xbox one anymore
