ReCore, the upcoming Xbox One exclusive revealed at E3 2015, is being written by Joseph Staten, the co-creator of the Halo and Destiny universes.Speaking to the New York Times, Staten discussed the action-adventure game’s female protagonist, Joule. "The male gender does not have the monopoly on heroism," he said."Joule is emblematic of this conviction, and we hope she's a character who stands strong and stands out in a market filled with male heroes."Joseph Staten worked at Bungie for 16 years, occupying the role of director of cinematics. His job was to write mission scripts and movie dialogue, something he did on the first three Halo games. He also acted as script supervisor on Halo 3: ODST and wrote the Halo: Contact Harvest novel. In September 2013, Staten left his role as writer and design director on Bungie’s Destiny, to take up a position at Microsoft Game Studios.ReCore is being co-developed by Keiji Inafune’s studio, Comcept, and Metroid Prime director Mark Pacini’s new studio Armature.Comcept has previously released the Soul Sacrifice games on PS Vita and worked alongside Team Ninja and Spark Unlimited on Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z. Armature, meanwhile, has worked on numerous ports and is staffed by many former Metroid Prime series devs. Not much is known about ReCore beyond what was shown in the E3 2015 cinematic trailer.
