Xbox Live offered its subscribers more than $500 worth of free games in 2014, which is less than half of the over $1,300 on offer from PlayStation Plus. Following analysis by PushSquare earlier this week which revealed that subscribers to PlayStation Plus had access to $1,349.29 or £960.64 in free games this year, Polygon has done their own investigation into Xbox Live’s Games with Gold programme. As it turns out, the rival service was worth $584.67 – or roughly £372 – by comparison. As for the quality of the games, both services are on a pretty even keel. The average monthly Metacritic score for all free games from PlayStation Plus is 79 in the US and 78 in Europe, whereas with Games with Gold it’s 78.3. Take a look at the PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live lists for a comprehensive rundown of the games and their value.
