A new free-to-play game for mobile devices called WWE Immortals will be released in 2015, WWE announced today. Created by the WWE and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, WWE Immortals will be available for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices. The game is being developed by NetherRealm Studios, the group behind the successful fighting franchises Mortal Kombat and Injustice: Gods Among Us, and Phosphor Game Studios. It will feature Superstar battles in an alternate or "fantastically re-imagined WWE world." Back in November, the WWE announced its new partnership with WBIE. The agreement was originally tied to distribution of new and archived content. The partnership also spawned two animated series based on Scooby Doo and The Flintstones. WWE Immortals will mark the duo's first foray into the gaming world. If the concept of MK-style fatalities is converted and repackaged to fit WWE Superstars' finishing maneuvers, we might have a compelling concept our hands.
