We’re pretty sure you’ll all agree with us when we say Skyrim is one of the best RPG games out there.

Skyrim, since its original release in November of 2011, still manages to be relevant in the gaming industry. Fans love the game, even after so many long years. To celebrate its 6 year anniversary, we’d like to present to you our top 5 Skyrim Mods. Though it already is a great game, we like to spice things up with new quests, new experiences, and new baubles.

    Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch

Bugs and errors are very common for huge games, including Skyrim. Update patches are made for that reason. Unfortunately, Bethesda stopped giving out update patches. New bugs and errors keeps on piling up, and this is why the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch is a no-brainer on our list. Thanks to the feedback of a legion of talented gamers, this mod has become the official unofficial patch for our beloved game.

The Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch mod requires 160 MB of free space and will constantly require more as new bugs or errors are found.

    SkyUI

While some might say the user interface of the game is good, some say otherwise. For those who agree with the latter, this mod is made just for you. It offers easier navigation and changes a lot of features, including the game’s inventory system. Not only does the mod change the game’s current UI, it also adds features of its own. This includes a control panel where users can check and fine-tune added mods.

The SkyUI mod requires only 1 MB of free space.

    Immersive Armors and Immersive Weapons

If you feel the number of weapons and armors are not sufficient enough to fulfill your grinding needs, you might want to try out these mods. They may not provide you the same armor or damage as Dragons and Daedrics, but it sure gives you options to make your character look just the way you like.

The Immersive Armors and Immersive Weapons mod requires a rather large space. 1.4 GB.

    Skyrim HD – 2k Textures

During its release, 2k resolution wasn’t that popular. 4k displays weren’t even available at that time. You should get down on your knees and thank the talented modders for this one because you can now enjoy Skyrim in 2k and 4k resolution.

Whether you like it or not, the overall graphics of a game are essential to the game’s satisfactory rating. This mod is a huge boost to the graphics, perfect for screens that are way larger and wider than your average displays.

The Skyrim HD mod requires a whopping 1.9 GB of free space.

    Falskaar

Last, but definitely not least, the Falskaar mod brings you a series of quests that are as high quality as an official DLC from Bethesda. This mod is well thought-out, well-balanced and is perfectly fitted into the world of Tamriel. This mod opened the gate for its creator, Alexander J. Velicky, to Bungie, the very same game developers that brought us Halo and the Destiny Series.

That being said, you can expect new lore, unique plots, great dialogues, and unexplored territory with this mod. This is undoubtedly one of the most epic and most amazing works of our modding time.

The Falskaar mod requires a modest 500 MB of free space.

To Mod or Not To Mod?

If you’re fairly new to the game, or maybe halfway through, we recommend that you do not try any kind of mods until you get to the finish line. The game is a masterpiece in itself, and is worth experiencing raw. When you feel you’ve conquered everything that can be achieved in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, try out some of the mods listed above. Many more hours of playing are in store for you with our list. If you crave more, check out thousands of other mods provided free of charge by talented modders across the globe.
