A new Age is upon us. The last time a mainline Age of Empires game came out was in 2005, when Age of Empires III was released. Since then it's just been spin offs like Age of Mythology. Until now, that is, as Microsoft has announced that Relic Entertainment is making Age of Empires 4. Relic is approximately as old as the Age of Empires games itself, both having started out in 1997. Relic is an old hand at RTS games, most famously the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War series. In a blog post on the website, Relic said, 'We can’t wait to tap into our strengths as a studio to fuse historical context with deep strategic gameplay.' There's an announcement trailer but it's all concept art of famous battles and armies, so is basically a mood board for the game at this point. Age of Empires IV will be coming to PC at some point.
