I decrypted the file through Bruteforce. I take the file into the editor, make my changes and save the file. I take the file back to Bruteforce. I do not verify the file. I encrypt the file, return the file to PS3 and the file plays fine with the changes intact.

However, I have only updated the characters, the money and nothing else.

I hope this information is helpful.

PS: I also noted that Title ID code NPEB01389 is missing from the games.conf file, which would explain why the Key ID is missing error.

Can you also look into why Valuable items gets deleted once you hit the Unlock all items & weapons button? I get all the items under every category but my Valuable items screen is blank. Thanks

I never really had to fully use Bruteforce, except the decrypt and encrypt buttons. Kind of exciting to learn it. Lol. I wish there was an UPDATE button for bruteforce, cuz idk what the most recent version is and where to get it. Lol. Looked all over, and I get links that don't work and links that you can only use IF you buy products or get crap emails. Any help, plz?

I'm also loosing all key items after using the editor. As if you have to do all your editing on a first savegame and then live with the choises you made.

Get the newer version of bruteforce, open the save in it and decrypt it, you dont need any of the id info it asks for if you're just drcrypring saves, once you fully decrypt it leave it open in briteforce and open the save in the tales of symphonia editor and make your changes, all I can get to save it gald and exp, save and go over to bruteforce and encrypt the save, once done move it back to the usb drive and back onto your ps3 and that should work

I would still get the error even after decrypting it in bruteforce. Is it really that simple or am I missing something else?

    It says....

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue the application will ignore this erro and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately."

"Value of "1861678977" is not valid for "Value". "Value should be between "Minimum" and "Maximum. Parameter name Value."

This is what I get when I open my PS3 save "NPEB01389_000". Then It will freeze if i click continue on the message.

you're tyring to make a change the save won't handle, avoid item and weapon changes, only change gald to 999,999

I got mine to work, although I didn't pay attention to the stats whether they stayed the same or not, but gald stayed and the insane exp I gave everyone who's currently in my party stayed the same as well. So, by the time I got to the Wind altar, Lloyd was level 99. LOL. Anyways, you MUST download the most recent bruteforce, which I think it was 4.6, and once you set your .sfo and profile (like rehash/resign stuff) and bruteforcing the save, if I remember correctly, you can decrypt it, put it into the editor, do whatever, save, put back into bruteforce, encrypt it, place back into fleshdrive, put fleshdrive back onto ps3, copy save back over to ps3, overright YES, and load it up. I got my gald to 99,999,998, just in case there's a trophy, and got into battle and everyone currently is either 99 or almost 90. I added a few weapons, not all, but some didn't work quite right. I got the snow bunny accessory though, which is odd, but whatever. LMAO! I might try experimenting with other ps3 saves too, to see what else I can do. ;)

    Finally got it working.

Basically used the latest bruteforce (4.6).

No more error came up after decrypting with the latest version.

Anyone find out what each of the item numbers is? I'd rather not use unlock all, since I heard it erases key items.

Edit: Never mind, I figured it out lol. For those who don't know, the items and weapons areas are reversed. It's nice to be able to get 99 of all stat items, hourglasses, and EX gems :)

IF/WHEN we find out what items do what, that is. Lol. Going through about 430+ weapons isn't easy.
