Destiny 2 is getting its official gameplay reveal tomorrow, but that can't stop the hype train from letting some rumors escape out into the wilderness of the internet.

A NeoGaf user, by the name ThatsMytrunks, started the latest Destiny 2 rumor in a thread focusing on tomorrow's Destiny 2 gameplay reveal.

According to ThatsMytrunks, a few folks they know have played the game and reported a few things. Most of the rumor sounds as though it could be likely, however, the portion that mentions "the next PS4" seems somewhat unlikely.

    Here's what they heard:

    • Destiny 2 will run at 60FPS
    • The PS4 and PC will feature cross-saving, but Microsoft hasn't made that feature available yet for the Xbox One (this does not suggest Cross-Play is coming, simply the ability to pick up game saves across platforms).
    • The game has been optimized for the PS4 Pro, Project Scorpio and "next PS4"
    • PS4 exclusive content (known)
The glaring part of that rumor is that the game is allegedly optimized for the "next PS4." There have been rumors of a PS4 Pro Slim or even slimmer slim PS4 coming, so this rumor could be referring to that or it could be referring to the eventual next generation PlayStation device - which hasn't really seen any rumors.

It should be noted that the original Destiny, which released in 2014, was available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4 - which means that this comment could simply be tied to the game being able to make the eventually jump to another console.

Bungie supported Destiny on PS3 and 360 until August 2016 and after that, they discontinued support for "legacy" consoles. It is likely that the "next PS4" comment is suggesting that Bungie could do the same thing with Destiny 2 - release the game on current consoles, then make a jump to the next console and release a new Destiny a year later.

Destiny 2 is set to launch September 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Destiny 2 is expected to be sold through Steam, despite previous fears that Bungie would release their own proprietary platform. There are also rumors that the game will get its first expansion by the end of 2017 and its second in early 2018.
