I don't know where to put this, I'm not asking for support or anything I just thought I would share.

So I wanted to play a Jap game so I turned on my RGH, I have not used my RGH console in a number of months, after I turned it on I went to the bathroom, when I returned my whole room smelled like burning electronics.

I have disconnected everything from the console and am currently about to take it apart to see what happened, I will update when I have more info.

Update 1: I have LED lights installed, it appears that one of the LED lights wire's have melted, Maybe it was short circuited? Will post pictures.

Update 2: Pictures of LED wires. One wire was even melted to the Fan Housing!

It's definitely the voltage that is the problem..which point are you powering the LED's from?

I bought the console with them installed, I have never had a problem with them until now. I bought the console back around christmas 2012 and used it heavily for the first 3 or 4 months. It looks like they are connected to the motherboard right under where the power plug is.

It's definitely the LED's and like Renegade pointed out - more then likely a voltage issue. I had a similar issue quite some time back with a bad capacitor & wrong wiring.
