if you get the right string rehash your save and delete save b then it should work regardless its worked the past 3 times with me
Thanks stewakkytea, I'll try again this evening. If I'm allowed to ask, if I simply extract and inject in <ahem> Horizons, would that automatically rehash? Also, I'm using Hex Workshop to open and save the savegame - is there anything special that I need to configure in that tool to prevent save corruption? I wondered about the codepage drop down - would that have any impact on what is saved? Sorry to keep bothering you, and sorry for going a bit off topic - I really, really want to learn and understand how to do this so that I can make myself useful to other members!
So, I too am trying to edit the money in my AC4 save, and I'm running into an odd issue. Namely, it doesn't seem like the game is accepting the change. I started with 4082R. Loaded up the save in HXD, put in the value, searched little endian, the whole kit and kaboodle, found two entries for that sum. changed them both to FFFF, saved, put the save back onto my Xbox...and loading it up, I have the same cash I did before. I've deleted Save B, and even made sure I put the correct save onto the USB drive, but it just will not accept it. I've also double-checked, just to make sure my hex editor was finding the right number when searching(F20F), and it is...but the game acts like it's not even seeing it. Edit: I'm stupid. I've just started using the new version of Modio and didn't realize I had to save to device. *headdesk* New problem, though, one which I hope doesn't have a stupidly simple solution...when I try to load from the hexed save, my entire Xbox freezes. Any ideas?
Having the same problem - well, it's telling me I've corrupted the save but still no luck doing it myself. I have to add a quick apology - I was referring to stewakkytea as 'Leecher' as the forum has posters name's in such a light text colour, I kept reading the forum status below it! Apologies for that mate!
WOO HOO! Success! Idiot that I am though - I didn't realise that Horizon didn't automatically rehash my save when I injected it. Brilliant - quite proud of myself!

Where did you get it from. Horizon editor came out today, but its paid... Is there a free editor for resources somewhere??? Or is there a way to mod resources???

I think I posted my question in the wrong forum to start but here it is, thanks can someone please help me hex edit my resources, it keeps crashing after the uplay login I have quite a lot of money too sugar - 269 - hex - 010D rum - 520 - hex - 0208 cloth - 494 - hex - 01EE wood - 48 - hex - 0030 metal - 51 - hex - 0033 these figures have not been reversed, they are as how they appear on the base converter in the HEX editor program, I keep finding multiple groups of some of the values, so I get stuck then thanks
