when you unlock your hideout you can buy resources so if for the time being you hex your money you should be fine ignore this wasnt thinking properly
Where do you buy resources? i have the hex edit for money down pretty well now so i dont need an editor for that. i just getting tired of hunting down ships... was only fun the first 30 times.
Could you post how to hex edit the money? Maybe someone will find out how to hex edit resources next?
if u want to hex edit. first write down what amount of money u have. then take your gamesave to a hex editor extract using any tool thats out there. in the hex editor there should be a tool or button called base converter this will tell u what numbers relate to which hex string you want. e.g.2556 will be in hex string 09fc so what you do is swap the backwards making it fc09 then search for this string. at first with ac games you can only make it ffff which is 65535 then go back in game and earn to about 70000 then repeat the process hope this helps this is how i was taught and its always worked. peace out

Hi all. I'm really interested in learning how to hex game saves, so I thought I'd try it out on AC4. Any chance of some assistance? First up, when I open the game in <my hasher of choice>, there are two save files: ASSASSINSCREED4SAVEGAME1A ASSASSINSCREED4SAVEGAME1B Q1 - Any idea what this implies, in terms of modding values in the save? I've tried modding both with no luck. I use Hex Workshop to search for my current cash - 2539. So I convert to hex (000009EB) and, as stewakkytea says I reverse this to EB09. I open the save files (tried with both A and B ) and search for this hex value. I find 3 occurrences in both files. So, I try to amend each one in turn to FFFF. I inject the file back via <hasher of choice> and try to load up my save. AC4 tells me the save is corrupt and do I want to restore back to a backup. I tried changing each occurrence individually and tried changing all occurrences, in each of A and B and both of A and B. All resulted in a corrupt save. Q2 - Is there a step that I'm missing or something that I'm doing wrong? I know this is a big ask, a noob asking for help, but I'm really interested in having a go at stuff myself and not just waiting for others to do the hard work. I have some experience of modding game saves: as an 8 year old I had a Multiface for my ZX Spectrum and hacked infitite lives for Renegade. Happy days. Any help, greatly appreciated! Regards, mroshaw
probably has checksum or you put value too high, >.> something like that, an easy way to check if it has a checksum is save in one slot, then save in a different slot and then bring both to pc and compare.
in AC3 you only Hex SAVE A and delete SAVE B and load the game, worth a try I see no reason why it wouldn't be the same just hex save a delete save b Also you could only hex value up to 6553 if you money was less than this then earn some more over the you can hex higher
Also MastaofEvil is working on one I supplied him my save and stat's today so in time hopefully we will have a good working editor and hopefully for resources also, Just a heads up for anyone trying resources can only be modded to 2000 max as far as I know
That would make sense. SAVE B is a backup that AC4 makes. I notice that if I leave B intact, then corrupt A, I get the option to restore from the backup. If I delete B, then corrupt A, I just get the option to start a new game. I guess that's Q1 answered - thanks for that! In terms of checksums. stewakkytea didn't mention that in his post. I guess there is a bit more to this than I'd anticipated!
