Now Red Dead Redemption is finally available as a backwards compatible title for Xbox One, we thought it was time to revisit Rockstar’s open world western. The cheats and tips below are handy for those who want to swing back into John Martson’s world, or if you’re just entering it from for the first time. We have details of how to unlock weapons and the cash you’ll need to earn in order to buy them. And we also have some pretty big game-changing cheats for those that want to just hang out in the Wild West and cause a ruckus. Using cheats in Red Dead Redemption Important: If you use a cheat code you will not be able to save the game or unlock achievements. These are strictly for fun, but they won’t affect your main game save in any way. To use a cheat code, just go to the Options menu and select Cheats, then enter the listed phrase after tapping Y. You’ll then need to turn it on in the cheats menu. Please note that some of these cheats and their titles contains spoilers. If you don’t want to ruin your playthrough then please don’t use the cheats here. As well as cheats we’ve also listed how to unlock all weapons and other skills used in the game, what missions you’ll need to complete and the cost of items. Newspaper cheats Why would you buy a newspaper in Red Dead Redemption? Because if you want to find cheats for yourself you’ll find one in the bottom right of every paper. Pick them up whenever you get the chance. Right, now let’s get into the business of cheatin’. Weapon cheats Enter the following phrase on the Cheats page of the main Options menu. There is a workaround, however. From the Pause/Options menu you can change the Audio settings slightly, which forces the game to quick save.
