According to the sony president of worldwide studios, the playstation 4 will not have a power brick. The power supple will be internal, unlike the xbox one.
The rumors are over, it has been confirmed by Sony that indeed the new PS4 has the power supply built-in, and there will be no ugly big power brick like with the XBONE or Wii U systems. -- No word yet if this will be international supply handling both 100/240v - 50/60Hz. Rumors started swirling that the PlayStation 4 would actually take the Microsoft and Nintendo route and have their power supply be external... aka the XBOX Power Brick. Well rumors were put to rest and were completely incorrect. Sony's President of Worldwide studios, Shuhei Yoshida, confirmed today on Twitter that the PlayStation 4's power supply will indeed be internal. It's unbelievable that such a powerful console would still be able to fit it's power supply internally and keep the model of the system so sleek and slim. Unlike the PlayStation 4, the XBOX One's power supply will indeed mirror it's last generation counterpart and be external, as does the Wii U (Quite obviously). Mr. Yoshida does not go into detail. IGN tried to get some more details from Jack Tretton on the matter but we will have to wait until IGN Webshow Up at Noon hosted by Greg Miller this coming Monday for more of the model's details.
as far as I knew the Xbone also doesn't have a power brick, if you look at the back of the xbox one it has a nornal 2 pin connector, like what goes into most lcd tv's and power packs on laptops its just a normal connector thus the psu is built into the system?
