Microsoft has doubled the amount of OneDrive cloud storage space available to users for free, increasing the capacity from 7GB to 15GB. The increase will allow Xbox One users to store more than double the gameplay footage direct from their consoles.

In addition to this, Microsoft has also dropped the price of further cloud storage space by over 70 per cent. The new monthly prices come in at $1.99 for 100 GB (previously $7.49) and $3.99 for 200 GB (previously $11.49).

Alternatively, if you’ve got one of the many Office 365 subscriptions your OneDrive storage space will soon be increased to 1TB. “For Office 365 Home ($9.99/mo) you’ll get 1 TB per person (up to 5 people), and with Office 365 Personal ($6.99/mo) and University ($79.99/4yr) you will get 1 TB per subscription,” explains Microsoft.

“This is a great follow on to our April announcement that all OneDrive for Business customers will get 1 TB of cloud storage per person too.”
