Hey guys I'm a bit of a noob here so bare with me a second. Is it possible to create strong, legendary items for something like a level 2 character to equip? I'm trying to make items that can give me a modified skill cooldown of 90%+ and also either unlimited mana/spirit/fury or Increased resource. In other words, I'm looking for a way to have unlimited or near unlimited resources and no cooldown. Also can someone explain the following message to me. His syntax is kind of confusing me. open the editor and change the mystic affix to sockets now u got 6 slots to put what u want if u want more attack speed keep rolling attack speed in game at the mystic until u hit 20% attack speed now change that item into a gem and give yourself a few of them everyone u socket in the item will get the 20% attack speed 3 gems equal 60 percent attack speed What exactly is he saying here, and can I do this to any gem/item? How many affixes can I add to a singular gem? Edit 1: Ok I found out that the cap for Cooldown reduction (CDR) is 89.99%. Ok now that I know that I need to edit the unknown tab, can I edit it BEFORE getting a a paragon point or hitting level 70? Edit 2: Okay guys so i did a bit of testing and as it turns out, an item can be made to equip on a low level character, let's say lvl. 3. Just edit the item's level when in the editor to the level of the character you want to equip it on. Edit 3: I found the answer to edit 1. Give character a paragon level of about 16. Put 1 point in each upgrade type under the paragon tab. Transfer the save back into the save editor, and click on the unknown tab. The unknown tab is located under the general information of the hero you're using. To get to the general section simply click on your character's name between the settings and locker tab near the top of the program's window. Here you then see the names and corresponding values that are available to edit. The values will not show up until a point is allocated to the paragon skillset.
Where did you get this excerpt from? I would suggest you don't do that with attack speed anything over 5 aps causes issues and crashes games..
Thanks for checking in CYK Haha, the old thread. You actually quoted him and said listen to this guy. But I don't want any daft attack speed or anything inane like that lol. I'm just trying to understand how to add affixes to gems and which gem specifically? Also, I recently bought the paid version, why is it that some of the entries don't have a tool tip? And lastly, is it possible to take to transfer special affixes? Like the one on Leoric's crown that doubles the effect of socketed gems? Or if not, can we transmog the item into say a ring and use it like a ring?
Yes listen as in follow the exact steps. You need to read the release notes from the project page source> history start at 129 well since you where reading the old thread you should have read that gems can have 1 mystic and legendary can have 7. Not everything comes with hard coded affixes. wait wait what?
Lol yeah, I know man, gonna look into that. Haha Yeah I hear you. It's just that it's not exactly the encyclopedia Britannica mate. Sometimes the grammar isn't so good and the post may be a bit dated; on top of that I just found the search function today which wasn't so easy to find which, in turn, is kinda strange given the nature of the media we're using. Anyway I just found the search function on this forum so I'm going to peruse it at a leisurely pace today at work. Take it all in. Lol. Nice. I dunno how trasmog'ing works so forgive me please sir. I'm just asking is it possible to transfer unique affixes or? Again, thanks for replying. Edit 1: Hey for the passive affixes to weapons, does that work only for patch 2.1.0 or does it work on 2.1.0 and higher? Or does it mean that you've only tested n 2.1.0?
Here is what the wiki says http://www.diablowiki.net/Transmogrification Everything that is patch X works from that patch foreword unless there are 2 patch numbers on the same object. example: Tunic of Dysfunction Makes you breath fire for 1.5 seconds per attack (Patch 2.1.0) Shoots a fireball out of your anus after every attack making you loose 500% health (Patch 2.2.0) Same item changed on different patches. same item
Lol, thanks man. I get it now. Really awesome work you did on the save editor. I mostly just wanna know why did you decide to make it? And was it tedious? Also what're some of the things that you found most troubling making it? Out of all the people that used it I'm surprised that no one actually asked about the process of making it. Addendum: If anyone else is wondering, gem-ception isn't possible. What I mean is it's entirely possible to give your gem 3 socks and even socket more gems on it. However, as soon as you try to socket the gem with 3 gems socketed into a piece of equipment, the game crashes. So...no gemming gems
Some one sent me a save file and asked what I could do with it. Because the nature of the save file its not complex to use a hex editor on it but simply wrong the save file is not written in a byte form that you would think of its serialized and sterilized.. Starting out yes it was very tedious. Loading in number after number took the people helping about 5 months to check everything. The most troubling thing I think was getting the data that is in the database. Asking people to load every number from -2147483647 to 2147483647 into the game a few at a time so if something came in they could tell what it was.. Yes that is 4 billion numbers loaded 2 times and even now if a patch comes in the entire database has to be rechecked because something was changed but not knowing what it is or guessing what it is things get missed.. The entire database has been loaded and checked for spelling and accessory 6 times now over the coarse of the past 3 years..
Holy Flubber that last part sounds like hell. Even though I already bought the premium version I think that I gotta go and donate some more. So anyway, I take it that it wasn't just you working on the save editor but several people, correct? If so, how many? Also before deciding to start making the save editor what sort of knowledge would you say helped the most in making the save editor? Did you come from a programming/ computer science background? If so, if something went wrong in editor how you know not only what caused the error, but how did you know how to fix the error? Are you the main developer Viperx420? Why is that you still respond to questions regarding the save editor if you no longer play the game? If you had to estimate, how many total labour hours do you think went into making the save editor? What would you say was the biggest hurdle for you to overcome in making the editor? And I know this last question might border on the philosophical, but why did you guys decide to dedicate so much time to the save editor if you aren't even playing the game 2 years later? @jasonhunt: Sorry man, I wouldn't know about that.
I have a question and I am on a phone so it is hard to read through page after page.. Anyways I am having an issue. I am on Xbox 360 watched all the vids and everything... So far editor is great for what it will allow me to change. The problem I am having is the items... When I open that part of the editor up all it has is numbers... And it appears that I cannot change any of them... Now unless I missed something in the videos it should have item names and actually tell you what the affix/ etc is.... If you need a picture I can get one later.. I don't know if it's because you have to pay for the tool? I didn't see this mentioned anywhere? Only other thing is that I live out of town and don't have an internet connection on that PC? The word thing is I open it in an older version of the editor and the item names all come up?? Thanks for your help
Valad internet connection is needed on open the editor use your pjone as a hotspot long enough to let the app load then disconnect it size wil be about 10 mb
Hey CYK, are you guys gonna update the database for the patch coming out in January? And I've noticed that some seasonal items are missing, such as the Lion's claw and Uliana's set. They debuted in 2.3 patch. Is there a reason why they're not included? Edit 1: No Gundo gear!? Come on man, you're killing me here! Edit 2: Ok wow. After doing a bit of research I see that you guys are missing a bunch of the seasonal items. Are you guys ever gonna add those...or?
Hey krili89 I don't know we will have to wait and see what blizzard dose.. Gundo Gear is in the database.. Lions claw is in the database as well use your tool-tips that's what there there for..
Hi, trying to open an xbox 360 save, yet I can't select a folder, instead the program only lets me choose a file to open, not allowing me to choose the whole folder itself. Yet I can edit the pref, profile, and account files individually but of course that doesn't really work. Again; it won't let me choose my saves folder. Every time I try it just opens the folder itself and will only let me select one individual files, not the folder itself. How can I select the folder when it only lets me select files?
The account file? Well I did and it didn't make any of the changes stick. Like I said before; after editing the account, profile, and pref files none of the changes I made showed up in game. I saved, and even reopened the files in the editor before putting them back into my save file to make sure that the edits were there. And it still didn't do anything in game. Same money, same stats on my weapon, same amount of gems and crafting materials, same everything, despite editing all 3 files. You're tutorial used a folder, so I am unsure what to do here.
Sure, but before that; if you have an older version that selects folders instead then that would be the quicker solution. Or was there something terribly wrong with the previous version?
