thanks for the replies guys all done assignment in results 92 people took part 68 male 23 female .... someone had no gender lol here was the age group , i wasnt surprised majority were aged between 25 to 44 which was expected 18 to 24 15.73% 14 – 25 to 34 34.83% 31 – 35 to 44 40.45% 36 – 45 to 54 5.62% 5 – 55 to 64 I laughed at this one Answer Choices– Responses– – Football 15.91% 14 – Personal computer 78.41% 69 – Game console 89.77% 79 – Handheld Device 63.64% 56 – Casino gambling 6.82% 6 Total Respondents: 88 88.51 % of you were aware of the age restriction .. lol the other well .... when asked if you think children copy what they see in video games , the responses were quite interesting Answer Choices– Responses– – Yes 46.51% 40 – No 54.65% 47 Total Respondents: 86 one of the questions I asked if you believe that video games played by children contribute to violence and murders and again i was quite surprised by the results Answer Choices– Responses– – Yes 28.24% 24 – No 72.94% 62 Total Respondents: 85 A good majority believed that video games were beneficial Answer Choices– Responses– – Yes 91.76% 78 – No 8.24% 7 Total Respondents: 85 I did not expect the results from the next question which asked if you would buy a game for your children outside the age group Answer Choices– Responses– – Yes 52.38% 44 – No 48.81% 41 Total Respondents: 84 I also asked how you thought the media portrayed video games and the results showed Answer Choices– Responses– – Negative 40.96% 34 – Positive 8.43% 7 – Both negative and positive 50.60% 42 Total Respondents: 83 The final question was an open question and asked what you thought of kids playing games like halo GTA V etc which was outside the age group and responses were interesting, over all 1/3 said it was fine, 1/3 said it was not and 1/3 said it would depend on the game and the type of kid playing it Any ways my overall conclusion was that parents are aware of video games and that they don't think they are the cause of violence in children and that the media doesn't help as they are quick to blame video games for the crimes children do.
