I have heard a lot of people ask if it is possible to mod the new ancient items. I was testing the various variables on the editor yesterday and figured out how to make modded items look like ancient items when you equip them on your hero. I am sure this has been done by someone else, but my buddies had not seen it so I figured I would let you all know. Please note that this is merely a skin or "look" of an ancient item. The chosen item will have the gold border around the perimeter of the item; no values will be increased. I believe the new editor has always provided the ability to mod with the higher ancient stats regardless of how the modded item looks (i.e. the new damage value that goes from 15xx-23xx or so). After you create your item, go to the properties tab for that individual item. About 3/4 of the way down is the "flags" entry with two data boxes to the right. The first box generally has the value "enchantable" or something close to that (typing this from memory instead of sitting the editor). Click that box and scroll down to the only entry with "ancient" in the title. I believe it is the second to last entry and it is "ancient unknown" or "ancient undiscovered". In short, it is for an ancient weapon that you have to press "x" in game to determine the affixes. After you set this value, go to the box directly to the right and click the down arrow approximately 5 times. The number in the second box to the right should end in "5". Save the item and transfer it over as normal. The result should be the ancient gold border around the item. Placing other values in the second box also resulted in the ancient border, but some remove sockets or other affixes from the mystic tab. Play around with it and see what works best for you, and let me know what you discover. Good luck! UPDATE: Confirmed that this method does create a item marked "cannot salvage". However, I have yet to find how that issue causes any problems other than not being able to salvage, which should not matter because you can obtain building materials through the editor.
This is being discussed on the site of the d3 editor. The problem we are running into is that it also flags the item as "cannot salvage". Stil trying to figure out the correct flag.
How bad do you guys really want the flags for removing the cannot salvage? It took me less than an hour to find a bunch of the flags that work. The flags also kinda follow a pattern fyi It is pretty funny though people online trying to pass off ancient items as legit with the cannot salvage and it doesn't seem like people were really interested in ancient items anyway just modding 3 socket items with insane attack speed and ridiculous ranked gems...
Anyways...here you guys go. I thought some more people would show interest in the ancient items. I've been using 22220055 for awhile because it's in the middle =] kinda like the 265 flag for RoS items. 22220051 Identified Ancient 22220053 Identified Ancient 22220055 Identified Ancient 22220057 Identified Ancient 22220059 Identified Ancient 22220050 Unidentified Ancient 22220052 Unidentified Ancient 22220054 Unidentified Ancient 22220056 Unidentified Ancient 22220058 Unidentified Ancient 22220060 Unidentified Ancient 22222225 Identified Cant Salvage 22222235 Identified Cant Salvage 1111110 Unidentified Ancient Junk 1111111 Ancient Junk 1111112 Unidentified Ancient Junk 1111113 Ancient Junk 1111114 Unidentified Ancient Junk 1111107 Ancient Junk 1111105 Ancient Junk 1111109 Ancient Junk 1111108 Unidentified Ancient Junk 1111115 Ancient Junk There are also some ancient flags that actually add sockets to an item even if the item doesn't have a socket affix. Kinda weird but I didn't care for those much.
