Microsoft has stated it is considering rewarding players with gifts for continuing to keep up a good reputation online. Speaking at a Games Developer Conference talk for ID@Xbox developers, Microsoft partner and developer lead Frank Savage explained that as well as punishing players for bad behaviour, the company is looking into making good behaviour worthwhile, Polygon reports.. Stating that Microsoft is aiming to "actively encourage [players] to be better", Savage said the Xbox reputation algorithm could be used to give gifts to players whose reputation is "soaring because you're this amazing player that everyone wants to be with". The rewards - which have yet to be determined - will be Microsoft's way of saying "thanks for being such a good member of the community, here's a reward", Savage said. The Xbox One uses a new reputation algorithm which categorises gamers based on their behaviour online. When the new reputation system was first announced last July, Microsoft senior product manager Mike Lavin explained how players with a bad reputation could be forced to play against each other. "Ultimately, if there's a few per cent of our population that are causing the rest of the population to have a miserable time, we should be able to identify those folks," he said at the time. "So there'll be very good things that happen to people that just play their games and are good participants. And you'll start to see some effects if you continue to play bad or, or harass other people en masse. You'll probably end up starting to play more with other people that are more similar to you." source: cvg
Terrible idea, who has a good ratio really? It takes one' good MP match for some 11 year old kid to rage and click avoid. Won't work unless you have people verifying everything
