    What said failed?
    as long as you have sufficient funds, it should ask you to verify the amount and send payment, it should convert automatically before giving you a total (mine shows me both types when I make a payment to another currency type)

    Ok I found the transaction, I have no idea why it failed or who's end it failed on, only reason I even see possible is because your paypal shows as unverified, I will bring this to the founders attention, he will be able to shed some light on the situation ;)

    You payment did fail and as such the transaction process was stopped.

    When payments get sent as echeque like yours was , the Gold membership doesn't start until payment clears.
