i was wondering if there was a way to tell if an xbox is banned or not - an easy way if possible. i am about to buy an rgh xbox around here and i just want to make sure the box is not banned. from what i know it would be impossible to use my "normal" xbox live profile with a banned box, right? i don't want to go online with it. i just want to play single player games with it.
You wouldn't be able to go online with the xbox. If your console banned your stuck with staying offline. No matter who the xbox goes to it's going to be console banned, so I would message the seller saying write his eBay name on a piece of paper and send you a video of him holding the piece of paper with his "username" and to show you him going online with the xbox your interested in.
so the only way to tell is if he goes online with it? so if he gets an update (which he shouldn't download) the box is safe, but if not he will receive an error message? is that what you guys are saying? can't he be banned for just going online?
Yes, he most likely right when he tries to sign into xbox live get an error message about not being permitted to go online. If that happens the xbox would be only at that point and offline xbox. So I would triple check and make sure your getting what you want. Or unless change all the stuff on the xbox, new kv, new hdd etc
Are you trying to say that you're buying an RGH, but you want to make sure that it's not banned from live? If you are, you have nothing to worry about, because if it is, you can flash a new KV to the console or put it on the root of your HDD and BOOM! You're unbanned.
if that's possible that would be awesome... do i have to make sure that i get all relevant data? most people ship stuff on cd with the box...
Now you've gone past my line of knowledge on the subject. Yes you can get a new KV and unban the console. I don't know what information you need to do so though (CPUkey.bin, etc.)
But if the seller is selling his xbox very expensive and he is selling it like it is an unbanned xbox and it is a banned xbox then I would try to lowball or don't go for it, because then when you get it you won't have what you payed for when you could've had a fully working online xbox, if it's cheap then I would go for it so you could get it then replace and get new kv and such so then it equals up to what you would've payed for with a fully working xbox, understand what I'm saying?
sure mate. i am not sure what he's about. he looks like he doesn't know what he is doing. but if i buy an almost new xbox + xkey i would pay a little more. and that's my 2 options. i just don't want to pay for games anymore lol (at least single player ones)...
I don't think that anyone knows what you're on about. Are you trying to buy an RGH/Jtag, or a retail console with an xK3y?
I'm going to put it in simple words infect, make sure he gets what he's paying for, if he's not getting what he's paying for I wouldn't get it ( in my opinion ).

Okay, here's what you do. You buy an RGH. It can play downloaded SP games (you said that's what you wanted, right?) and you can play old games on it too (NES, SNES, GBA, etc.) AND you can mod the games using trainers. (amazing mods.)
