The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare are being made by High Moon Studios, otherwise known for developing the Transformers Cybertron games and Deadpool.

Work on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions of Advanced Warfare game is led by Sledgehammer Games. Studio co-founders Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey told Game Informer that Sledgehammer has put all of its resources into making a new-gen title.

"Our focus is on innovation for the franchise, unrestricted by last generation hardware constraints, and the additional third year of development has allowed the team to make bold decisions to deliver on a new era in Advance Warfare," the co-founders said.

Parent company Activision chose High Moon, another of its internal studios, to take over work on the other versions of the game - which are "also going to be great".

"They are committed to bringing an incredible X360 and PS3 Call of Duty game to fans," Sledgehammer's co-founders added. "We've been working closely with those guys to ensure players get an awesome Call of Duty experience on all platforms."

Condrey confirmed earlier this week that Advanced Warfare will not release on Wii U. Both Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Call of Duty: Ghosts previously appeared on Nintendo's system.
