Hello, I have been attempting to edit my common.rpf and been very agitated at how many times it doesnt work. Im specifically trying to edit my handling.dat for weight cars/drift cars/speed cars/etc. and it hasnt been working for me. It just freezes my xbox as soon as I start the game. Steps I take to edit my common. please let me know where Ive gone wrong -open my iso image in xbox back up creator v.2.9.0.425 -extract common.rpf to desktop -run openIV v.1.5.5 and open my common.rpf -extract my handling.dat from common.rpf/data -open handling.dat in notepad++ -change this: SULTANRS 1400.0 9.0 85 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.3 5 0.26 1.0 150.0 0.25 0.70 0.7 35.0 1.35 1.10 14.0 0.15 0.48 2.0 1.3 1.3 0.08 -0.14 0.0 0.5 0.7 1.0 0.8 1.5 0.0 25000 440000 1 0 To this: SULTANRS 1000.0 0.1 -1 0.0 0.1 -0.5 0.5 7 5.00 0.1 99999 2.00 0.70 1.9 54.0 8.00 7.00 45.0 0.15 0.48 2.0 1.3 1.3 0.08 -0.14 0.01 0.5 0.0 0.0 0.8 0.0 0.0 99999 440000 1 0 -Save it in notepad -use openiv to replace exsisting handling.dat with new one (same exact file size) -either: Rebuild the archive (which causes the file size to greatly increase in size) or simply save the archive and exit which causes the file size to remain the same. Ive tried both methods -use xbox backup creator to replace common.rpf with the new one. -plug drive into xk3y and play. No matter what I seem to differently my xbox freezes as soon as I hit play game Please help me. Any input will be appriciated
Still my xbox froze. i didnt rebuild the archive though Does the common.rpf have to be the same size as it was before modding it? Do you have to rebuild the archive when editing the handling.dat?
