Wow. Just wow. The PlayStation Twitter account posted the link to the Limited Edition 20th Anniversary PS4 console a little over 40 minutes ago and within that time a lot of things have happened. Just three or four minutes after the link went live, the page came to a grinding hilt. Prospective buyers reported not being able to access the page and when they finally got there, clicking the pre-order button made the page go dim and nothing happened. It’s safe to say that the site is getting hammered and understandably so. Only 12,300 of these units are being made. Because of that, scalpers have taken advantage of this situation. Several users have placed auctions for the system on eBay. One auction in particular has 3 hours left with over 100 bids. The price of the auction so far? A whopping $15,000. Let that sink in for a moment. Another auction is has hit $10,100 with 22 hours left and 28 bids. It’s safe to say that bid will rocket past $15,000 before it ends tomorrow afternoon. Several other auctions have quickly reached $1,000 with plenty of time to eclipse that amount before they end.
