Okay, Last Question! Promise! I replaced the laser with one from an RROD I had laying around. It still gives me disc unreadable error when I join a game on BF3. Also, my solo/campaign disc has almost NO scratches on it at all and when I try to play the second mission I get the same error. Should I get the discs professionally resurfaced or should I just save my money and invest into a new Xbox?
could be that laser is also no good ..youve got a couple of choices either buy brand new laser from ebay and fit that as its new you will know its definetley gonna work or put an ad in the wanted section on this site for someone with a working drive make sure its the correct type needed if not and u fit the wrong drive you will start to get errors such as e66 when you update a game etc etc . pm bullet the site owner hes always got drives for sale if you arent capable of flashing the new drive simply switch the pcbs over simply solder the board back in or if you havent got a soldering iron you could always cut the wires and tape them up
