Trion Worlds has pinned a release date on its MMOFPS (Massively Multiplayer Online First-Person Shooter) Defiance, along with a live-action trailer that aims to offer some insight into the game's Ark Hunters living in the arid deserts of a new, terraformed Earth. Defiance is also being positioned as a 'transmedia' venture, with a tie-in TV show set to premiere on the Syfy channel on April 15th, shortly after the online open-world game's launch. “In terms of ambition and scope, Defiance’s transmedia features make it unlike any other entertainment experience,” said Nathan Richardsson, Trion’s VP of Development and Defiance Executive Producer. “After five years of development, it brings great pride to the Trion and Syfy teams seeing Defiance come to fruition.” Defiance will be launching globally on Xbox 360 on April 2nd, 2013.
