    Hit a dead end?
    Wondering where an item is?
Got ??? on your Travel Map?

This guide is here to help!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    EXTRA AREAS:
First of all, stock up on Pharros Lockstones.
Tons of extra content can be missed by not spending the extra money when you see a merchant has one in their inventory.
The Belfry Sol and the Belfry Luna can be accessed through here.
On top of that, a ton of small chest alcoves can only be accessed through this route. Any completionists or collectors will definitely need a steady supply.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    BLACKSMITHS:
For those using the editor that doesn't have Large Titanite Shards, McDuff the Blacksmith sells an infinite amount. He can be found in the Lost Bastille. You'll notice an area before the tower where you meet Lucatiel of MIrrah. There is a locked iron bar door at the bottom of the stairs. This is the second bonfire and McDuff's workshop. He will also be the npc you need for the new infusing system. You can either use the Bastille key, or manage to get the barrel to roll at the angle to destroy the wall. Definitely worth gaining access as early as you can.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    STONE STATUES:
Fagrant Branches of Yore will end up being your best friend for Dark Souls 2
They are used to unpetrify npcs. Some of the end game areas are accessed this way, as well as the npcs required to create boss soul weapons.
    Locations: (from gamefront.com)
Shaded Woods #1: Unpetrify the tribal blocking the door inside the ruins, near the path to Scorpioness Najka to obtain another branch with the Lion Mage armor set.
Shaded Woods #2: Talk to Manscorpion Tark with the Ring of Whispers equipped after defeating Scorpioness Najka to earn one, along with a Second Dragon Ring.
The Gutter #1: Found before reaching the first bonfire in the Black Gulch.
The Black Gulch #1: Located in a treasure chest past two Giants. Drop down the platforms near the hidden room bonfire and enter the treasure room at the back of the cave.
Brightstone Cove Tseldora #1: Found in the library after defeating the Duke’s Dear Freja.
Iron Keep #1: Available for sale at Magerold of Lanafir’s shop for 7500 souls.
Sinner’s Rise #1: Located in a chest after defeating the Lost Sinner.
Harvest Valley #1: Before reaching the Mines bonfire, look in a cave to the right after exiting the first poisonous valley.
Harvest Valley #2: After the Mines bonfire, enter the room with the mass of sickle-wielding opponents, found after knocking down the wooden wall. Look through the doors here to find another branch.
    Uses:
Majula (Rosabeth of Melfia – Required): Travel up the shaded path to the ruins to find Rosabeth of Melfia blocking a door switch. Use a branch to free her, so you can activate the switch leading into the Shaded Woods. She is a merchant that sells Pyromancy spells and items.
The Lost Bastille (Straid of Olaphis): Before going to Sinner’s Rise, travel to the top of the tower filled with exploding hollows. Blocking a bonfire in one of the cells, you’ll find the petrified Straid of Olaphis. Free him to trade boss souls for powerful unique items.
The Shaded Woods (Weaponsmith Ornifex): There are 3 frozen enemies. The first is on a ledge near the entrance bonfire. Unfreeze and kill him to open the Fang Key, opening the door in the cave below where you’ll find Weaponsmith Ornifex. Talk to her and she’ll return to her home in Brightstone Cove, where she will trade unique items for powerful souls.
The Shaded Woods (Manscorpion Tark): Another frozen enemy blacks the ground path to Manscorpion Tark. This strange NPC will only talk if you have the Ring of Whispers equipped, which can be purchased from the cat merchant in Majula. He will reward you with the Second Dragon Ring after defeating Scorpioness Najka.
The Shaded Woods (Lion Mage): The third frozen tribal enemy blocks the way into a ruined building on the path to the Scorpioness boss arena. There is another Fragrant Branch of Yore and the Lion Mage armor set located within.
Doors of Pharos (Petrified Gyrm): Multiple Gyrm are frozen near the second bonfire.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    Memories/Soul of a Giant/Vendrick:
These all kinda coincide. If you've gotten to the point in the game where you're up against the optional (yet probably the most fun) boss "King Vendrick", and you're doing no damage, READ ON!
King Vendrick is right after the Kings Aegis, Velstadt. He will wander around aimlessly and until you do a noticeable amount of damage will not be aggressive. As soon as you see an HP bar, you might notice you really aren't doing much damage. This is because the amount of his defenses is reflective upon how many Souls of a Giant you have in your inventory.

These souls are found in various places.
    (Fextralife.com)

Dragon Shrine. Drop from Ancient Dragon.
Memory of Orr. on the body of a Giant past two giants and two knights on Ballistae.
Memory of Vammar : At the very end; guarded by a giant
Memory of Jeigh. On a body of the giant after Giant Lord boss.
Black Gulch: Requires defeating two giants in a hidden cave. Area is in close proximity to the door for Darkdiver Grandhal. (Read on for the Havel's set guide)

Some of these can be found earlier on, however the remaining three are accessed through memories!

    MEMORIES:

These are pretty much flashbacks to when the land was in wartime.

These are the ent/overgrown giants that you'll see in various areas.
They can only be accessed after you've met the Ancient Dragon passed the Dragon Shrine area. You'll receive the Ashen Mist Heart. This will allow you to access the memories. Be warned though, these are timed and also a pain in the ass.

Memory of Orr: Found in the area immediately after the Pursuer boss. This is arguably the easiest of the three

Memory of Vammar: Found in the area where you meet Mild Mannered Pate. It is through a doorway that is adjacent to the room with the 5 ballista. Once through the doorway you'll see an archway through the right. Interact and you'll begin.

Memory of Jeigh: This one is a bit tricky. It is located at the black king door right after the Last Giant boss. Head down the ladder after the Cardinal Tower bonfire. Take a right, across the bridge, and then right again to that door that you needed the Soldiers Key to access. Head right through there and up to the left to discover another one of those King's door.
ONCE INSIDE, you'll be on a rampart sort of area. There will be two giants fighting some soldiers. You can kinda just chill and wait for the catapult to demolish them. After a certain point, one of the catapult blasts will loose a statue head. If this runs you over, its an obvious one hit kill.
Now the fun part. At the end of this, you'll encounter the Giant Lord. This lovely boss can easily one hit you and will make life hell.
However, just lock on and right circle strafe and you'll be golden.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    SOUL OF THE KING:

Once you've done all that nonsense and taken on King Vendrick, you might notice you didn't get any loot. Don't fret! Head over to the Shrine of Amana. Travel to the second bonfire. Head back out the main path at the row of pillars, you'll notice a submerged path heading off to the left. Use a torch to make it a little easier since you can walk off the edge of the water and die pretty easily. You'll see an area with ivy and through that, a door which only opens post the King Vendrick fight and only while in human form. You'll see a chair containing the Soul of the King. Up a pathway to the right, you'll find a chest containing the King's Set. Definitely worth having.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    HAVEL'S SET:

This is an awesome set to have featured in the sequel. It's really REALLY overpowered though and actually soaks a lot of damage from lesser enemies. It is also a lot of fun to troll with invasions since things take forever to actually do noticable damage.
Getting this set is a little tricky.

    (Gamefront.com)

    Forgotten Key Location:
Travel to the Hidden Chamber Bonfire in the Black Gulch. Reach it by exploring the ledge to the right of the entrance into the Rotten’s arena.
From the bonfire, back track to the ledge looking over a deep pit. Bring a torch and follow the ledge until spotting a platform below. It should be near an area full of black pools where spider-like abyssal creatures ambush any undead.
From the first platform, you’ll find a locked Forgotten door. This leads into another encounter with Darkdiver Grandahl, which you’ll need to unlock the Dark Chasm of Old secret area.
Look below, and drop down to a second, lower platform. Through the cave entrance, you’ll find two Giants. Defeat them to earn the Forgotten Key. In the back of this area, you can also collect a Fragrant Branch of Yore from the treasure chest.

    Forgotten Door Locations:
The Black Gulch: Located above the giant cave described above. The door leads to Darkdiver Grandahl, who will open a portal to the Dark Chasm of Old if you find all three of his locations.
The Gutter: Located in a cave in the Gutter. Unlock to find Havel’s armor set.
Majula: Once you purchase a ladder, climb down to find another ladder leading to the locked door. Contains 3 treasure chests.

    How to Find Havel’s Armor:
Start from the first bonfire in the Gutter. From here, turn and jump down to another rickety building below where you’ll find a ladder. Climb up and enter the dark cave full of poison-spitting figures. Fight through them, and open the forgotten door.
There are even more poison-spitters inside, and a vase near the back wall. Smash it to collect Havel’s Armor.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    DRAGON MEMORY LOCATION:

Once you've gotten the Ashen Mist Heart, there is actually another area you can access other than the tree memories. Go back to Duke's Dear Freja boss area located at the bottom of Bright Cove Tseldora, go to the crystal which has now appeared in the back of the arena. Examine is to access a huge empty bleak area with no enemies. Toward the end of it is a massive dragon corpse. At the head of the deceased dragon is the Ancient Dragon Soul. Interact with it again and you'll be transported back.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    NEVER LOSE SOULS UPON DEATH:

When you find the Ring of Life Protection, upon death it will break. BUT you can just visit the blacksmith in Majila and have it repaired for 3000 souls. Rinse and repeat!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    Majula Mansion:
    (GameFront.com)

How to Open the Mansion Door in Majula
Near the armor shop, in the back corner of Majula town, curious adventurers will find a locked door to a two-story mansion. The front door is locked.
To get the key, travel to the Forest of the Fallen Giants. The path is located near the bonfire, on a road leading down next to the cliffs.
Fight to the Cardinal Tower bonfire, then move down the ladder. There are two enemies near the arched bridge. Get rid of them and enter the door on the left. Step through the white mist to enter a near, complicated area.
Walk up the sloping tree, then drop down onto the ruined rooftop to your right. From the rooftop, leap over to the scaffolding and enter the cave.
Wait near the entrance until a large boulder rolls by, then move up the passage to your left to find a strange man. This is the cartographer.
Talk to the cartographer multiple times until he gives away the key. Voila, now you can open the mansion door in Majula.
Inside the deep basement of the mansion, you’ll find a map of the continent. Continue down the steps into a small ruin to find two rare items; a Soul Vessel in a treasure chest, and an Estus Flask upgrade on a dead body.

A few spelling, and grammor mistakes, and it really needs a new layout. But not bad at all.

Wrote it on my tablet. Between Google Keyboard's autocorrect and the terrible word editor, I'm surprised it's not latin.
