Sledgehammer Games has suggested it will not be teaming up with developer Infinity Ward on Call of Duty: Ghosts. The Modern Warfare 3 co-developer tweeted last night that its team is currently "heads down" on a new project. "Congrats to @InfinityWard on #CODGhosts!" wrote the studio. "Our team is heads down on our next project, but best wishes to the hardworking team at IW!" Last year, a Sledgehammer job ad calling for a senior FX artist to create real-time effects for "the next Call of Duty game" suggested that the studio wouldn't be leaving the franchise. Sledgehammer also worked on a canned third-person Call of Duty spin-off before being pulled in to work on Modern Warfare 3. Activision released the first Call of Duty: Ghosts trailer yesterday, with the promise of a full reveal at the next-gen Xbox event on May 21. This year's entry in the blockbuster FPS series will be made by Infinity Ward. Activision has confirmed a Call of Duty: Ghosts release date of November 5 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Powered by a new engine, it's also in development for next-gen platforms. Source - CVG/X360A
