The next Call of Duty is launching in November. During a live stream today, developer Sledgehammer Games revealed that the recently announced Call of Duty: WWII will be available on November 3rd on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The studio also provided the first glimpse at the game with a debut trailer.

The new game returns the series to its World War II roots, following last year’s sci-fi- themedCall of Duty: Infinite Warfare. While that game was largely a critical hit, it also failed to hit the same lofty level of commercial success as previous Call of Duty titles. Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg described Infinite Warfare’s far future as “a setting that didn’t appeal to all of our fans.”

One of the things Sledgehammer stressed during the reveal was the focus on research and attention to detail, with the goal of making the most authentic game possible — a WWII historian even worked on the game. The game will take place primarily in Europe between 1944 and 1945. “Getting World War II right is incredibly important to us,” explained studio GM Glen Schofield. The studio is relatively new, but has been focused entirely on the Call of Duty series; the developer made its debut with Modern Warfare 3 in 2011, followed by 2014’sAdvanced Warfare. And yes, WWII will feature zombies.

Of course, Call of Duty isn’t the only big shooter franchise going back in time. Last year, Battlefield ditched the modern setting of more recent entries with the WWI-themed Battlefield 1.
