Gamers can now use Bitcoins as a payment option to download digital content, that includes games, apps and movies from Windows, Windows phones and of course Xbox consoles. Microsoft added Bitcoin support earlier this week, in a suprise move actually beating competitors like Google and Apple. This payment option is currently only open to US residents, it is unclear right now if Microsoft intends to expand the Bitpay option across other regions. You can now add Bitcoin credit to a Microsoft account by using the newly added bitpay gateway to process Bitcoin transactions. Any funds added to the Microsoft account via Bitcoins can not be refunded. "You can only use bitcoin to add money to your Microsoft account and then purchase digital goods at select Microsoft online stores. You can’t use bitcoin to purchase Microsoft products and services directly at this time." ~Microsoft Although you can now purchase games on Xbox, apps on Windows and movies on Windows phones, you can not purchase services such as Office 365.
