EA and DICE have announced the details for all four upcoming Battlefield 1 expansions.

The expansions referred to in the release are all going to be available on an individual basis, or you can splash out $50 for the game's Premium Pass and be able to download them as they release. This will entitle you to play the DLC two weeks before general release, grant you access to priority servers and give you 14 superior battlepacks to deck out your soldiers in custom gear.

The first expansion, titled "They Shall Not Pass" will introduce the player to the French army, giving you the option to play as French soldiers across four maps located in warzones around the country. This expansion will introduce the Char 2C tank - a new behemoth - that promises to fundamentally alter the to-and-fro of the matches it turns up in.

The second expansion will be called "Name of the Tsar" and will introduce players to the Russian army, where DICE has stated you'll be able to 'ride with legendary Hussars' and take part in the notably Brusilov offensive and get your boots on the ground during the Albion assault.

The third incoming expansion is 'Turning Tides' - this is where things move away from the mud and blood of the trenches and move away to the naval aspect of WWI. This DLC pack will introduce a new destroyer class ship, as well as a new 'coastal class' airship, too. The maps included in this pack will include the beaches of Gallipoli and the Zeebrugge raid.

The final expansion coming to the game is the aptly named 'Apocalypse' pack - this will round off the game's DLC campaign with the most infamous battles of World War I (think Passchendaele) and will also introduce horrifying-sounding 'brutal tools and unique weapons born out of desperation and deadlock'.

The first pack - They Shall Not Pass - has been given the release window of 'March', but the others are still without dates. At least now we know what sort of shape they'll be taking, however.

Battlefield 1 is out now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
