those are component cables and need to match those to the tv. you should have a red white yellow and he is probably using the green or blue...

you can upload your save but it probably has a checksum on the save which is why it become corrupted after modding it.
do you have any of the item you are trying to mod. for instance do you have medigel to mod?
make sure the trainer_loader and enginedll are both in the the game directory and launch the game by pressing the trainer_loader.xex make...
