well the devil horns gets unlocked by completing classic mode. You can only use the items in standard mode and the devil's horns can be used in both standard and classic mode, but not pure survival or hardcore.

Right on, well thank you very much for this... My box froze upon completing the game the first time when I went back for one collectible and froze just as it was saving inventory so when I turned it back on, my save file was corrupted... anyways, thanks again mate, I really appreciate it
