Xkey blew up O.O

So was installing it when i turn on my xbox it went on fire......... Legit burn me think my xbox is ruin + the xkey lmao im so lucky...

 

are you serious? did you have all the power cables plugged in correctly and did you have the xkey wrapped in it's cardboard or electrical tape so it wouldn't ground out?

 

Yup lol did everything just was getting the tape in right Boom xkey went in smoke lol xbox wont work so im done :C

 

You must plugged the cables in wrong or Something was touching your Xbox to do. I remember once with a xenon Jtag I had it had a yellow flame on the dvd cable and I just managed to blow it out before it burnt the board lol.

(Maybe you plugged In the cables wrong Where dvd cable goes and the Fan Check which ports you plugged them in as there are different pins)

 

Nvm xbox works but im scare 2 use xkey now lol

 

Make sure its all plugged in before Putting power to your xbox Then you know.

 

idk while i was installing it i notice few things on the board sata wouldnt go in correct so i put tape in think the xkey board was broken x.x just never thought it blew up on me ty god my xbox still works tho and chip on xkey is burn atm so it probly wont work

 

Take pictures There should be a way of Getting it working do u get warranty with it?

 

before you plug it in you should cover it all in electrical tape. lmao. make sure you also ground yourself

 

here ive installed about 5 xkeys,ive had 1 faulty loose connection but nothing like this lol.Put up some pics lets have a look at it

Yeah waiting on the picture just took 1 and put my xbox back together it working perfect On top of white connection power part the lil black chip is burnt doubt it work

 

sata cables should go in and power as well without any problems or issues. also you shouldn't have to tape the cables or anything like that but you should make sure all board edges and traces ARE completely covered. This is where electrical tape would be used.

whats an xkey? sorry, i just got some random notification for this for some reason and i read it and got curious...

 

looks like you put DVD cables in wrong so it blew fuse or it grounded out in the case. You can bypass the fuse and solder the trace together and xkey will work again.

 

you pluged in Power cable backwards

 

yeah idk how to solder soooo ima probly buy new 1 hopefully the sata goes in good and i follow the picture off the site :<

Think it was grounded caus the xbox mobo probly woulda fry also i think if i did the power wrong x.x but it okay i fry mobo once gf 180 dollars so now it gf 108 dollars :C

 

your sata ports don't look right on the picture you uploaded??
