Following news that Xbox One can be used as a dev kit, it looks like mod support could be incoming too. Could this be a first for Xbox, becuase rightnow it looks likely that Xbox One will support mods, I know right that crazy! So where did we hear this BS i bet your wondering? Well from none other than the big cheese of the Xbox himself...Major Nelson. After the news was released that the Xbox One could be used as a dev kit, a Reddit user asked if this means the console would support mods. Welli dont know about you guys, but that sounds like the Xbox One will certainly have the capacity for modding, if developers create games in a way that will support it. Xbox and Xbox 360 didn't allow for mods but the recent Xbox One policy changes are positioning the new console to be the most open console Microsoft has made to date. Well i guess we wait and see, what are your thoughts, do you think that mods should be allowed? Please post below and let us know... This post has been promoted to an article
i just thought of, why don't they divide gamers in legit gamers and mod gamers. there's no need to ban people. just give them seperate places to be. you could start out legit and then go mod - but you can't go back. why not? let the people be creative with their 450 pound brick. how many people would pay for an extra account just to get the best of both worlds... and why not let people remove games with achievements from their gamercard? i would even pay for it.
I like the idea of allowing modding so long as the mods are not sold and they are not malicious (ruin everyone else's day and possibly Xbox just for Fecal Leaking's and giggles)
I believe xbox one will have modding, but not in CoD Ghosts, because they now run dedicated servers, which means it is hosted by the company.
