If you follow the gaming news you must have heard by now there is a new version of the Xbox One arriving later on this year, and you might be considering should you get it? Well we recommend you hold out for the next generation but if you feel like upgrading here are the five differences between the original Xbox One and the Xbox One arriving later this year dubbed the "Xbox One S"

    1. New design and a lot smaller than the current Xbox One.

The Xbox One S is a wonderful piece of art and compared to the origonal Xbox One it's 40% smaller and will look a lot nicer than the big black brick we're all used too.

    2. There is a brand new control pad, that is white too.

It's not a completely brand new controller but more an enhanced version of the current Xbox One controller and it has the ability to connect to your computer with a bluetooth and textured grips for better grip when your playing an intensive game.

    3. No power adapter brick. Just a straight cable.

The power adapter is built into the new Xbox One "S" meaning you won't struggle to hide the massive power supply behind your TV.

    4. Improved Graphics (Slightly)

Xbox One "S" will look better that is because it uses HDR (high dynamic range) lighting technology games you have come to love such as "Gears of War 4" will look slightly better on the new xbox One S, a slight improvement but not one XPG would recommend you swap your original Xbox One in for a new one. The other major difference is it will support 4K televisions, but who has one of them right and those who do the movies available are pretty limited.

    5. No Kinect adapter.

The Xbox One S doesn't have a built in port for the Kinect meaning you will need to buy a special adapter to make it work. Some people love Kinect's motion and voice controls others hate it but it appears Xbox "S" is distancing themselves from this a bit.

    What is our verdict?

It's a nice improvement upon the classic Xbox One but it doesn't warrant the price we recommend you hold out for the next generation Xbox or the PS4 Neo and save up your money for that.

For sure unless you have had your lounge re-architected with white furniture and you can ask Jeeves to go buy the new slimmer white Xbox One your probably better saving for the next gen that's performance should blow us away

I'm quite happy with the XB1 i already have, not shelling out for this since the news of SCORPIO! It even has it's own theme music. :)

Making it only available in ugly white. Just one more way for MS to shoot themselves in the foot. Idiots.

I like the new Xbox One slim model. I'll pick this up as a backup. Can't wait for the Scorpio model to be released.
