    Hi all,

I'm new to the world of Xbox.
I never even played a game on it.

I got an old console from a friend, the xbox eats the DVD's.
He didn't include a powersupply, controllers or games, so I bought a powersupply and controller yesterday.

I would like to play burned DVD's or even better, run from the HDD/USB (which I just changed into a 320GB WD).

I understand JTAG is the way to go, but I just saw that my dashboard is v 2.0.8498.0...
All the information I can find is from 2010, I can't find anything recent. Is this nowadays possible to JTAG this version, or can I do something else?

downgrade is not possible because of the e-fuses, right?

    Thank you :)
    With regards,

    Sander.

There is nothing you will be able to do with that xbox apart from maybe replacing the dvd drive and flashing the firmware to play copied games from disc or spending the money on a ODE to play iso's from an internal hdd. Xenon can only really be Jtagged and is beyond the kernel needed to carry out the hack, it can be RGH'd but is not recommended as it can take 24h+ to boot which is a complete waste of time.
