SafeLight.Dev is opening up two free tools for RGH and JTAG Xbox 360s. Valkyrie is the dashboard on your console. Valhalla is the app on your Mac or PC that sets it up and handles the rest. Why I built these I've been in this scene for two decades, always as a user and never as a creator. I had the logic and the ideas, but not the coding chops, until vibe coding came along. Building these has been a ton of fun, and a whole lot of love went into them. I know that sounds cheesy, but y'all know what I mean. Valkyrie is built on the work that came before it, especially FreeStyle and Aurora, the two I've always used and loved. It's not meant to replace them, just to put a new spin on them with the tools we have today. Valhalla comes from growing up in the Xbox 360 game save era and the Halo 2 modding days. There were so many tools in so many places, and as a Mac user I was always stuck keeping a random spare PC around. So Valhalla started as a pure macOS app, then got ported to Windows. Both are first-class apps now and will stay that way. The inspiration is Xbox 360 Game Saves, Modio, Horizon and all the OG apps that changed the game for everyone. I built it the way I use it: moving games and saves from console to console over FTP without ever leaving the app to plug something else in. It also has trainers and a trainer creator built in, so you don't need to know everything to make something fun in your own space. And it installs Valkyrie over the network, which is pretty different. I'm going to keep building and it's going to keep getting better. Valkyrie Beta 3 (the dashboard) Eight themes, every page in its own style: Series X (default), OG Xbox, Blades, NXE and Metro, plus our own Bifrost, Darkroom and Den. Your library with cover art, banners and screenshots that download on their own. Title updates: the newest one for your copy downloads when you start a game, or pick one yourself. DLC: see a game's packs and which ones you have installed. Apotheosis: rip a disc straight to Games on Demand on the hard drive. Toasts and the Guide in your accent color. Updates itself. Every build is signed, and a bad update falls back to the last good one on its own. Want to keep Aurora? Keep it as your dashboard and hold Start to open Valkyrie. Valhalla 1.8 (Mac and Windows) Checks your disc images, turns them into Games on Demand and files them by region. Sends games to your console over the network, title updates included. Installs Valkyrie on your console, or builds a ready-to-go drive. Trainers for 100 games, run from your computer while you play, plus a tool to build your own cheats. Profiles, game saves and GPD editing, backed up before every write. It never touches an Xbox Live profile. Why it's different One app instead of a dozen, and it runs on a Mac too. Every copy is checked after it lands, and your profiles and saves are backed up first. Valkyrie keeps itself current, so you're not hunting for files. None of this exists without the tools this scene has run on for years: FreeStyle Dash, Aurora, XboxUnity, Horizon, Modio, Le Fluffie, Iso2God, XeXMenu, DashLaunch and J-Runner.
