Basically I was using my 64GB memory stick on 360Revoltion USB Explorer droping all my backup saves onto it and I got a massive freeze and error. Now even though I can see all the saves on there I cannot write to, remove, delete, edit or even format the drive at it keeps saying that "write protect is on" which it isn't. The drive doesn't have a switch and write protect in my windows registry is not set to write protect. Basically the USB stick if buggered, I doubt there's any fix but just wondered if anyone knows of any tools programs or what ever that my fix, I wouldn't be bothered if it was my 8GB or my 16GB but its a expensive 64GB TDK. I've been in cmd changed the drive letter tried to force format I've tried everything to resolve it.Even take the thing apart and tried to reset it by cross connecting the power, It may just be useless now but I thought I'd ask before I throw it in the bin. Cheers for any help...........
Try HP USB Disk Storage Format Utility cant link it as it's warez but it should format any USB It can be known to recover Flash drives that are un-responsive too.
Use another USB and make a live Linux bout drive with gparted it has all sorts of tools for meeting with and fixing hard drives. Also 64gbb sticks are a pita they are formatted to exfat not fat32 I try not to use bigger than 32gb sticks 64gb don't like being formatted to fat32 either they start acting crazy Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Will give it ago should find it doing a google search, wouldn't be warez as it would be a free program to download wouldn't it be. Cheers I'll get it and have ago, I have tried a few other tools but no good so far Found it on PCWorld its Freeware hopefully it will work I have everything backup up not worried about recovering anything of it. I've had it 9 months and never backup up what's on it but the day before thankfully I did lol, 63GB of stuff on it lol, I use it for all saves and dlc for my RGH, not bothered about anything on it as I have it on my hard drive just don't wanna have to buy a new one as quite expensive 64gb and 32gb, cheers
Give the gparted Linux distro. Google a program called unetbooting (free) you have a drop down list of many Linux distro's which it will download and make a bootable USB so you can run it live without installing anything just runs from the USB stick gparted is about 300mb for the full OS is made purely for hard drive manipulation repair and data recovery etc all the inbuilt told are for working on storage devices Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
