Ubisoft will bring downloadable Tetris games to PS4 and Xbox One, the publisher announced Thursday. While the firm has entered into a partnership with The Tetris Company, which controls the rights to the classic puzzle game series, Ubisoft didn't make any announcements about specific titles on the horizon. The arrangement with Ubisoft does not apply to games on mobile devices or consoles other than PS4 and Xbox One, of which Electronic Arts has published several. Tetris was originally designed by Soviet Union researcher Alexey Pajitnov in 1984. It went on to appear on a number of platforms, most famously helping to propel Nintendo's new Game Boy system to worldwide success in 1989. Approaching its 30th anniversary this year, Tetris-branded products are available in more than 50 languages and in 185 countries. Source - CVG
