Sony is going to be rolling out a new firmware update for the Playstation 4 soon according to industry insider 'Tidux'.
Tidux recently Tweeted that there will be "News on 2.0 incoming soon." Also that "The FW will release soon after."
Right now of course this should be treated as a rumor, although Tidux has been correct with other Sony firmware updates and other industry news, so we have no reason to believe this isn't true.
The 2.0 firmware for the PS4 is a big deal as it is going to bring some amazing and much needed features to the games console. So far feature full updates have been thin on the ground for the next gen console. Sony have pushed out a few updates to fix stability issues, unlike Microsoft, they have been rolling out regular monthly updates that have drastically changed the console since its launch.
The anticipated update '2.0' will see the introduction of real time activity feeds similar to the feed the Xbox One currently has along with new broadcast and video share features, which will allow gamers to upload game play footage directly to YouTube. The new firmware will also include "enhanced real-time activity through friend-of-friend suggestions, allowing instant access to friends’ and recently played games’ broadcasts, and a real name search function" says Sony.
