Project Control is a sci-fi horror game currently in development by an independent developer(me) using the Unreal Engine. It's mainly based on mind control, hence the name. It's partly inspired by "Project MKUltra", also known as "CIA's mind control program", a real life project ran by the U.S government.
In this game your character gets kidnapped by a government agency and put into a simulation that controls your mind for experiment purposes and It's your goal to escape and outsmart the simulation. You'll be faced with multiple challenges, puzzles, scares, and your mind power will be tested.
This game is based in the future where government is corrupt and Project Control is no longer an underground operation. What will the outside world look like when you escape and how long will you be in the simulation for?





Control Influence
In the game there will be a thing called "Control Influence", the simulation will have a certain amount of control on your characters mind depending on how much control influence you have. This will be earned by successfully completely a challenge or puzzle. The less you complete things, the more your control will go away and the more the simulation will start to take over.
The challenges you face could be escaping an enclosed room, or it could be fixing an elevator, or you might have to do both of those while something or someone is after you.. Those are only some examples of the huge variety challenges that you may be faced against in Project Control.
Challenges will not be timed but the longer you take, the less control you will have and the slower your character will become, and your character may start hearing things or hallucinating.

Who is your character and why would they want to take him?
Your character is played as a psychology teacher at one of the top colleges in Pennsylvania and has been studying the human mind for over 20 years. He's also known for being one of the top Neurologists.
Why do they want him? Well because of his background, who better to participate in their mind control experiments than someone with a large background involving the study of the human mind.






The Story
The story behind this game will progress depending on what choices you make, yes that means multiple endings, and i feel like this is something that a lot of horror games lack, a sense of being able to choose what path you want to follow.
In this game you could choose to obey and follow instructions, or you could choose to disobey and play it risky.
The choice is up to you, and each choice you make could change the outcome of the storyline, there is no right or wrong choice, just life or death.
