Nope. He stated earlier he had to edit the default.xex. So, you can't use it with a flashed console, as it can't read the edited XeX.
Yes but when he write this the Retail ISO wasn't released so I think it can be possible now with the retail iso.
Still unlikely. Turn 10 upgraded their security. All the "goodies" are in the XeX now. So, editing the XeX will break security, and therefore, "retail" consoles cannot read the disc. Then again, you could be right. He hasn't reported anything other wise though, so we're still assuming you'll need a RGH/JTAG to play with these mods.
It wont work for iso. sure enough i posted this before the retail came out, but the leak that happened for this game is the full retail version, just it was leaked in GoD format so thus is why it was only for unsigned code consoles. So yes the XEX is still the same lol. I did manage though, to make some iso mods, very basic though so any file that isnt the db really and some zips. for people wondering about the zips not changing once modified or w/e, is because they made it so the game caches the files.
for shits and giggles, i might also make a texture pack for horizon. little example of the loading screen.
OP, How's the progress on porting forza 4 cars? I notice there are a few people iso modding forza horizon, What are the limits as far as mods go? In your earlier post, you were saying that you were able to make changes to .zip and .xml files only, but without altering gamedb.slt or using modified .xex? I have experience with modding forza, just haven't looked into what people are doing to allow iso modding with forza horizon...
I've given up with importing cars. Can't get collision working as the collision format for horizon is totally different. Short story short, there is a file with the extension .col in the tracks folder that on forza 4 it had a pile of data from about the start of the file to about 1/6th of the file size but now they have removed a big chunk from horizon's col file and it's almost impossible to be able to get collision now but i think there is a extra file or 2 with that code somewhere but i've still been unable to find it :| as for iso, yeah gamedb doesn't work as there is a check in the xex and is only bypassable if using DLC sql scripts or editing the DB to remove the check. So yes iso is only possible with Fecal Leaking stuff like xml's, and zips.
I have edited DLC sql scripts successfully with jtag but thought the unmodified default.xex would prevent this from working with iso?
