Phil Spencer has recently shown his support for backwards compatibility on the Xbox One whilst replying to a fan on Twitter. Dylan (DJGames) asked "Please tell me, is Backwards Capability I'm the works, maybe in a monthly update, maybe even at E3? Please Reply."

Surprisingly Phil Spencer replied that he supports backwards compatibility:

However given that the Xbox One and Xbox 360 both have different architectures its highly unlikely that this would be anything other than a streaming service similar to Sony's Playstation Now service, but even then it wouldn't make much sense from a business point of view.
Microsoft's main aim right now should be to get AAA exclusive titles for the Xbox One whilst continuing to push updates to improve the console.

What do you think, backwards compatibility, good idea or not?

I would like for this to happen, but I can not see this implemented for a good while.
