DiRT Showdown travels more down the arcade route compared to previous entries in the franchise, opting for higher octane events such as destruction derby and leaving the rally modes to take a backseat. DiRT 3′s popular Gymkhana event makes a return and will act as the base which the game is built around. If you’re a fan of rally driving, then maybe you should skip this entry and wait for DiRT 4, which the publisher promises will go back to the franchise’s roots. Codemasters Racing has announced the official release date for DiRT Showdown. The game will hit stores and Steam May 25 in Europe and May 29 in the U.S. A demo is also set to release May 1 on Xbox Live, PSN and Steam.
