Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has announced in a financial results presentation that the company is not planning on holding a large presentation at E3 this year. Iwata gives the reason for this being that the event hosts different groups of people such as gamers, analysts and distributors which all want varying types of information from Nintendo. Therefor the company feels different methods will be needed to convey the appropriate information to said groups. This will result in Nintendo holding smaller events at E3 to individually target each group. The focus is said to be on software for the US market, courtesy of Siliconera. Iwata also said he will not be speaking at E3 as well as adding, “There will be one closed event for American distributors, and we will hold another closed hands-on experience event, for mainly the Western gaming media.†Apart from a new 3D Mario game and a new Mario Kart game for Wii U, Nintendo have not revealed any other information on other games they intend to present at this year’s E3.
