Racing game developers are now amping up their online competitive modes. A brief look at Need for Speed’s autolog system immediately gets you enthralled in competition amongst your friends and family – or if things go badly – may even make you break you controller in frustration. Forza Horizon’s Rivals mode sees the game offering you ‘rival challenges’ every time you beat race events. These challenges tease you with bonus XP and money for challenging and destroying your friend. It could see even the strongest of friendships reduced to a full-on ruck, but only if you’re the competitive type.
