The first day of E3 is almost over with Sony gearing up for their conference. (Started as of 8:16 PM EDT btw) At the top of the E3 conference, Microsoft laid down the goods regarding upcoming titles There's Modern Warfare 3, the new Halo games, Gears of War 3 and many more coming down the tube. Microsoft also unveiled news regarding some changes coming to the current Xbox dashboard as well as Xbox Live.

Dashboard Redesign: The Xbox dashboard will be redesigned and released later in the year. Major Nelson says that the new dashboard will be simpler, cleaner and easier to navigate. In Addition to that, Voice Search capabilities will be added to allow users to quickly find what they are looking for.

Youtube: Nothing more needs to be said other than that the fact that it was announced alongside Bing Search.

Bing Search: In a nutshell, Bing Search allows you to search your media content and the Marketplaces to find what you're looking to watch or listen to.

Beacons: Beacons are notifications so to speak that allow your Friends list as well as those on Facebook that you want to play a specific game. While that beacon is active, you will be alerted when your friends are playing the requested game and on the flip side, your friends will be notified.

Cloud Storage: Cloud storage will allow you to always have a copy of your Xbox's game saves as well as Live profile that can be synced and taken to any other console. Cloud storage will aim to eliminate the need of saving profiles to memory units and hard drives as well as using the "Gamertag Recovery" feature to transfer Live profiles between consoles. As Major Nelson advertises it: "...All you need to do is sign in, no matter where you are!"

A minor feature upgrade will expand Kinect voice capabilities to 8 new markets. There you have it, new features expected to drop into the upcoming dashboard(s) within the year. Of course, stay tuned for more information as it arrives.
