There are 2 new racing games on the Horizon (pun intended) and we are going to compare the differences between them. Forza Horizon 2 is being developed by 2 separate studios so that old gen doesn't hold back current gen meaning both Xbox 360 and Xbox One get versions of Forza Horizon 2. Driveclub will only be coming out on the PS4 so the focus in on current gen only with no plans for a PS3 version. Graphics: Both games will be 1080p and run at 30fps, Forza Horizon 2 (FH2) will have dynamic lighting, Driveclub (DC) will not. FH2 will have a Dynamic Weather, Day/Night Cycle. DC will not have any Weather, No Day/Night Cycle although you can manually change it in the menus. FH2 will have an open world which allows you to take short cuts by going off the track and exploring. DC is a closed course, there is no ability to explore anything other than the tracks. FH2 Will have 100s of cars from launch. DC will have 50+ cars and 55 track ribbons from launch. FH2 Will not have a free version DC Will have a free version for PS+ subscribers. So as you can see although there are some similarities in the two games it would certainly seem that Forza Horizon 2 has the edge over Driveclub. Forza horizon 2 is expected to release sometime in September whilst Driveclub will have a confirmed release date of October 7th in North America, 8th European release and 9th UK release date. Both games will feature at E3 so keep checking back for more details on both of these racing games.
